In a Canadian national newspaper today, an article about a specific exchange over the relationship between religion and politics, featuring the United Church Moderator, Ms. Mardi Tindall, and Senator Nicole Eaton.

"Ms. Eaton’s brief comments raise fundamental questions about what actions taken by churches are political and what are charitable, and prompted the United Church to issue a press release titled: 'For Churches, Being Political is About Being Faithful.'"

This question of interlationship is an interesting an important one for Religious Studies, and we will be taking it up in the weeks ahead.
